Police Searching for the Hit-And-Run Driver Crash on SR 24 in Yakima County
Yakima County, WA (September 3, 2020) – Saturday afternoon, a driver sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on SR 24 near milepost 13.
The crash was reported at around 4 p.m. on August 29.
WSP said a driver in a white Toyota Tacoma was traveling east on SR 24 near milepost 13 when they tried to pass multiple vehicles using the oncoming lane.
Then a car heading west veered off the road to avoid a head-on collision with the pickup, but then they lost control and crashed. That driver was injured, and the Toyota Tacoma immediately drove away.
A witness of the incident gave a photo to the investigators. Unfortunately, the license plate number is blurry.
Police believed the suspect’s Toyota Tacoma to be a 1995-2000 model. Moreover, it also has a large sticker on the upper left corner of the back canopy cover.
Anyone with more information about the suspect may call Detective Patrick Lockwood at (509)-249-6743 or the WSP tip line at (509) 249-6700.
