Driver Injured in Fatal Crash on Interstate 82 [Yakima County, WA]

Yakima County, WA (May 20, 2024) – A driver was injured in a fatal crash on Interstate 82 Sunday night.

WSP officers said a 27-year-old Toppenish woman was driving the wrong way in westbound lanes on the freeway, 15 miles south of Yakima

The woman struck another vehicle that also hit a vehicle.

Immediately, the rescuers rushed the Toppenish woman and another driver to the hospital but the woman died. 

WSP officers suspect the woman of being under the influence when the fatal crash happened.
