Driver Hurt in Crash Into Restaurant in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 7, 2019) — A female driver sustained injuries after a crash into a restaurant on Carmel Mountain Road Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred at 1:00 p.m. in the 9800 block of Carmel Mountain Road in Rancho Peñasquitos.
A witness said the driver intimated that her accelerator stuck. That caused her to lose control of the vehicle. She subsequently hit several vehicles in a car wash parking lot and then crashed into Sushi Hana.
The driver suffered minor injuries. On the other hand, no one from the sushi restaurant had injuries.
Construction crews and city inspectors worked for several hours to assess the damage and repair wooden beams. The repairs lasted through the evening and interrupted the dinner rush.
Sushi Hana reopened the following day according to a sign posted on its window.
Driving can be very dangerous if you are not paying attention or if you are not driving in a safe and legal manner. If you’re behind the wheel, always look for signs indicating curves and turns. Safely reduce your speed before approaching a curve and be aware of approaching drivers.
