SANTA ROSA, CA (March 16, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, a driver suffered injuries in a school bus crash on Lavell Road and Mark West Springs Road.
 
The incident happened at around 3:39 p.m. when a pickup truck crashed with a Rincon Valley Union School District bus. Apparently, the bus carried nine students on their way to a basketball game. As the driver veered left on Lavell Road, a pickup approached in the right lane despite stopped traffic. Then, the Chevrolet Colorado pickup along with its male driver struck the right front side of the bus.
 
Fortunately, no students of the Spring Valley Middle School sustained injuries. Also, the crash happened on Lavell Road and Mark West Springs Road.
 
Meanwhile, the female driver of the bus sustained minor injuries. Then, responders took her to a hospital as a precautionary measure.
 
“There was minor damage to the bus and the truck and no kids were hurt,” said Sonoma County Fire District Battalion Chief Ryan Estes. His crew responded to the crash. “All the kids were concerned about was getting to the basketball game.”
 
Meanwhile, officers confirmed that the driver felt sore but didn’t require hospitalization. Also, the authorities haven’t disclosed the names of the drivers.
