One Dead after Murrieta Suspected DUI Crash on Juniper Street
MURRIETA, CA (August 1, 2019) — A driver sustained injuries after an alleged DUI a crash in a Murrieta intersection on Tuesday, July 30.
The crash occurred around 5:10 p.m. at the intersection of Juniper Street and Madison Avenue. Police said that witnesses noticed a person driving a silver sedan run a red light while traveling southbound on Madison Avenue. After that, it slammed into a truck that was turning from Juniper Street.
Paramedics transported the driver of the sedan to the hospital with minor injuries. The sedan driver faces charges of DUI, police said.
The driver of the truck did not sustain any injuries, police said.
Officials briefly closed the intersection as a result of the incident. It reopened by 6:30 p.m.
