Driver Hospitalized in State Route 599 Fatal Collision [Tukwila, WA]

Tukwila, WA (March 12, 2024) – A driver was injured following a State Route 599 fatal collision Monday morning.

Officers said that both drivers involved in the two-vehicle crash were sent to the hospital. One of them was suffering from critical injuries and later died.

Moreover, WSP officers said the driver who died in the hospital crossed into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with another vehicle.

Troopers said only the two drivers were involved in this collision, and they believe drugs or alcohol played a role. 

Police closed the northbound lanes of SR-599 for several hours and reopened at around 7 a.m.
