1 Injured in Poway Collision on Espola Road and Twin Peaks Road
POWAY, CA (October 14, 2019) — A collision at Espola Road and Twin Peaks Road Thursday afternoon sent one driver to the hospital.
According to Sheriff’s Deputy Nick McGregor, they received a call about the incident at 3:25 p.m. Involved were a roofing truck and a van driven by a carpet-cleaning employee.
An investigation indicated that the van rear-ended the roofing truck that was stopped on southbound Espola Road, near the intersection with Twin Peaks Road. The officers said the van was also headed south on Espola Road.
As a result, the driver of the van was trapped inside the vehicle. The firefighters were able to extricate him after about 20 minutes. The paramedics then took the van driver to a nearby soccer field where a helicopter was waiting to transport him to a hospital.
On the other hand, the truck driver did not sustain any injuries. However, there was some damage to the truck.
The drivers were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles.
