Man Killed in Rollover Crash near East Taylor Road
CERES, CA (July 4, 2018) – A man was killed late Wednesday evening following a single-vehicle crash on Central Avenue near East Taylor Road.
California Highway Patrol responded to the scene at about 11:30 PM after receiving numerous reports about a car crash. The initial investigation suggests that a man driving a 1998 Pontiac drifted into a dirt shoulder and then hit a utility pole. The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to roll over into a cornfield, ejecting its driver.
The driver, confirmed to be the sole occupant in the vehicle, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the authorities. His identity and address were not immediately known.
An investigation is ongoing to determine if impairment played a role in the crash. No additional information has been released to the public at this time.
We extend our sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this trying time. May he rest in peace.
