One Dead in Stockton Vehicular Accident
STOCKTON, CA (December 11, 2018) – One person died following a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 4 near 5 Freeway on Monday, December 10.
According to the California Highway Patrol, they were was called to the scene after reports of a vehicle that had driven off westbound Highway 4 just west of 5 Freeway in Stockton’s Port District. Then it went down a steep embankment and collided into a tree.
The vehicle ended up near East Washington Street east of South Garfield Street.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP officers responded to the reports of the accident at around 5:47 a.m. but determined the incident happened several hours earlier because the engine was only slightly warm upon CHP arrival, the CHP report stated.
The identity of the driver was not released pending positive identification and notification of next of kin by the San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office.
