Injury in Los Alamos Fatal Crash
Los Alamos, CA (December 21, 2023) – A 33-year-old male driver was killed and a 22-year-old male passenger from Oxnard was injured in a solo vehicle crash on Highway 101 Wednesday.
The fatal collision unfolded at around 9:38 a.m. on the southbound freeway north of Palmer Road.
According to the investigators, the driver drove into the center median and struck an Oak tree branch.
The impact of the collision caused the driver to hit his head on the driver’s side A-pillar and die.
Officers said the van continued to cross the southbound lanes and struck a fence before it finally stopped.
Luckily, the passenger was able to get out of the vehicle on his own. He was transported to Marion Regional Medical Center with head injuries.
In the meantime, officers are investigating this traffic accident. Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected as factors.
