Driver Dies in Highway 880 Hit-and-Run Crash [Hayward, CA]

Hayward, CA (July 31, 2021) – On Friday, a man dies in a deadly Highway 880 hit-and-run crash.

Investigating officers said the fatal accident took place at about 2:35 a.m., at the State Route 92 connector.

When Hayward CHP arrived at the scene, they found the unoccupied Honda CRV. Its engine was still running and its driver already dead, laying 300 feet away from the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the officers did not release the deceased’s identity pending notification of next of kin.

Moreover, the authorities are still searching for the suspect driver and the involved vehicle in the Highway 880 hit-and-run crash.
