Crash on Reclamation Road Involving Big Rig and Pickup Truck Kills 1 Driver
Sutter County, CA (April 23, 2021) – A crash involving a big rig and a pickup truck on Reclamation Road killed a driver on Thursday morning.
The deadly crash happened on April 22 on Reclamation Road near Tudor Road around 6 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol investigated the incident and found that a Dodge Ram 1500 that was towing a boat slowed down to let the big rig pass. Then, the big rig collided head-on with an oncoming 1997 Ford Ranger.
Due to the impact of the collision, the big rig rolled over onto its side causing both vehicles to explode into flames.
The Aftermath of Fiery Semi Truck Crash
CHP officials said that the driver of the Ford pickup truck succumbed to his injuries. His identity has not been released.
Meanwhile, the other two drivers did not report any injuries from the crash. Later, they told CHP that the Ford Ranger did not have its headlights on.
Furthermore, the Yuba-Sutter Hazmat team also arrived at the scene after receiving reports of a possible leak. However, officials reported that they didn’t find leaks or spills.
