Driver Dies in 2-Vehicle Collision on Highway 94 [Dulzura, CA]

Dulzura, CA (June 16, 2023) – On Wednesday evening, a sedan driver died and a pickup truck driver sustained injuries in a 2-vehicle collision on Highway 94.

The fatal collision unfolded at around 7:14 p.m. in the area of Barrett Lake Road.

CHP said a man was driving a sedan on the the freeway when he veered off the road and over-corrected before colliding head-on with a pickup truck.

The sedan caught fire and its driver inside inside and was unable to get out. The authorities said the pickup truck driver tried to get him out but couldn’t. 

The fiery collision also started a brush fire that was quickly put out by Cal Fire after 1/8th of an acre was burned.

Sadly, the sedan driver died at the scene while the other driver was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Officers are still investigating if alcohol and drugs were involved in the Dulzura fatal collision.
