Driver Dies, Christina Collins Hurt in Traffic Collision on Highway 119 [Bakersfield, CA]

Bakersfield, CA (August 18, 2022) On Monday morning, a female driver died and Christina Collins of Bakersfield was injured in a crash on Highway 119.

Reports say that a westbound Peterbilt truck collided with a southbound Ford on Buena Vista Road at around 7:30 a.m.

The CHP says that the Ford was attempting to turn eastward on the highway. Consequently, the Ford pulled into the path of the big rig pulling a trailer.

The truck collided with the driver’s side of the Ford. The crash killed the female driver at the scene.

19-year-old Collins, a passenger on the Ford, suffered moderate injuries. Meanwhile, 60-year-old Alexander Koolmees also of Bakersfield, did not suffer injuries due to the collision.
