CHENEY, WA (June 13, 2021) – Thursday night, a driver died in a Tesla crash on Thomas Malton Road and Hallett Road.
 
According to Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies, the incident involving a Tesla happened at around 7:00 p.m. Moreover, it occurred on S. Thomas Malton Road and Hallett Road.
 
Reports revealed that a Tesla traveling at a high rate of speed failed to stop at a stop sign on Hallet Road and lost control. The vehicle slid off the road into a vacant lot and struck a fence of a residence on W. Sugar Road.
 
Furthermore, responders pronounced the male driver of the Tesla in his 30s, dead at the scene. Meanwhile, authorities confirmed that a male passenger in his 30s sustained minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital.
 
Moreover, officials said that the driver was not the owner of the Tesla but was given permission to drive it.
 
Also, deputies said that the driver remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities. The passenger told the authorities that he told the driver to slow down multiple times.
 
The incident is under investigation.
