WALNUT CREEK, CA (February 19, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, a driver died in a Tesla crash on Interstate 680 near Treat Boulevard.
 
The incident happened on northbound Interstate 680 near the Treat Boulevard offramp.
 
According to the assistant chief of the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Tracie Dutter, a Tesla crashed into a parked fire that responded to an earlier accident.
 
Moreover, responders pronounced the Tesla driver dead at the scene. Then, paramedics confirmed that four occupants of the fire truck sustained minor injuries in the incident. Also, firefighters extricated a passenger of the Tesla who was trapped inside the wreckage. Then, they transported the victim to a hospital with unknown injuries.
 
At this time, the events that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
