Elderly Woman Crashes into Hawaiian Restaurant on Tierrasanta Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 16, 2019) – An elderly driver crashed through a glass panel into the Homestyle Hawaiian restaurant on Tierrasanta Boulevard, Wednesday evening.
According to the San Diego Fire Department, the incident happened at about 8:00 PM. As per reports, the woman behind the wheel mistook the gas pedal for the brake. Then, the vehicle smashed through the eatery’s glass window.
Emergency responders confirmed that no injuries were sustained in the crash. However, police temporarily evacuated the strip mall. Once investigators found the structure was safe, patrons were allowed back inside.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
