Police Arrest Suspected DUI Driver in Redding, Woman Injured

REDDING, CA (July 9, 2019) – A woman was hospitalized after an alleged DUI crash at Leonard Street and Shasta View Drive Sunday afternoon.

The Redding police said the incident occurred at about 3:00 p.m. It involved a truck and a silver Porsche SUV occupied by the woman. Officers said the driver of the truck slammed his vehicle into the Porsche. The truck subsequently went through a fence into a backyard.

Miles Quaife said his girlfriend and his dog were out on the back patio when the crash happened. She alerted him of the incident, put the dog inside the house, and then yelled for help. When Quaife went outside, he said he saw the smoke and the airbags. Added to that was the vehicle that had come through the fence and taken out the middle pole.

The police arrested the truck driver after giving him a breathalyzer test.
