Vehicle Pursuit Leads to Collision on State Route 12, Injures 1 Driver
Solano County, CA (April 30, 2021) – Police arrested a driver for brandishing a gun at another driver leading to a collision on State Route 12 on Thursday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on April 29 on Interstate 80 just after 11 a.m.
A report said that the driver of a black Nissan Altima traveling on Interstate 80 waved a gun at another driver before speeding westbound.
Solano Area CHP units positioned in an attempt to stop the driver from going anywhere. However, the CHP officer said that the Nissan merged onto State Route 12 heading toward Napa.
Then, the vehicle in pursuit continued traveling westbound until it collided with a Honda Civic.
The driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries from the collision. Meanwhile, the three occupants including two minors in the back seat did not report any injuries.
The Nissan driver threw the handgun into the weeds nearby. Later, officers recovered it.
Police arrested the driver and took him into custody for several counts.
