Driver Arrested in Single-Vehicle Collision on Lankershim Boulevard and Whipple Street [Los Angeles, CA]

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 25, 2019) – Authorities arrested a driver after a single-vehicle collision in the Studio City area on April 24.
 
The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. at the BMW location. In addition, police responded near the intersection of Lankershim Boulevard and Whipple Street, LAPD Officer Greg Kraft revealed.
 
A surveillance video revealed that the vehicle drove at high speed before colliding into a glass wall. In addition, the car stopped halfway inside the establishment and caught fire.
 
“The fumes from the fire set off the building’s sprinkler system, which “held the fire in check,” LAPD Battalion Chief Thomas Gikas reported.
 
Meanwhile, Kraft added that the authorities arrested the female driver. Her identity remains unreleased as of this time.
 
Furthermore, Gikas added that two additional cars sustained damages in the car dealership.
 
Meanwhile, Gikas stated that there were no structural problems with the building after the collision.
