Afterward, the authorities started the chase near Bouquet Canyon and Vasquez Canyon roads. However, they stopped it after a while because of the high speeds. Miller revealed that despite the suspension of the crash, a department helicopter monitored the suspect until the CHP handled the chase.
The suspect traveled at a speed of over 100 mph from the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway to the Golden State (5) Freeway. He then led the officials through residential areas in Burbank.
As the chase continued, the car’s trunk suddenly opened and some boxes fell out of it. At this time, the authorities weren’t able to determine the contents of the boxes. They were also not sure whether the suspect purposely threw the boxes.
