Passengers Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 5 West Turner Road, Drunk Driver Arrested

Lodi, CA (August 23, 2021) – Police arrested a driver after a fatal DUI crash on Interstate 5 West Turner Road on early Sunday morning. 

Officials received a report of a two-vehicle collision on August 22 on Interstate 5 at about 2:07 a.m.

The California Highway Patrol Stockton division said that the collision involved a Toyota and a Lexus. According to the report, the driver of the Toyota was driving at a high rate of speed and rear-ended the Lexus. 

As a result, the Lexus crashed into a guardrail in the center of the southbound and threw the passengers out. 

Due to the impact of the collision, police officers pronounced the passengers dead on the scene. It is currently unclear how many are the passengers and their identifications have not been released. 

Meanwhile, the driver of the Lexus suffered moderate injuries from the incident. However, there has been no update regarding their current condition. 

CHP reported that the driver of the Toyota attempted to flee the scene but eventually, the driver went to the Lodi police station. Officers arrested him for charges of drunk driving related to the crash.
