Traffic Stalled after Eureka Auto Accident on Highway 699
EUREKA, CA (September 16, 2020) – Authorities arrested a male driver after a DUI crash on Highway 699 in Eureka.
According to reports, the driver crossed the center line and crashed with on-coming traffic.
A video taken by Lydia Robbins showed how the vehicle weaved in and out of the white lines. Robins started taking the video as she passed exit 699 off Highway 101 North.
The vehicle then drifted onto oncoming traffic, almost missing the silver Honda. Afterward, the vehicle plowed into an SUV.
As a result, the Eureka Police Department arrested the driver of the black car for driving under the influence.
Meanwhile, the incident stalled traffic but has resumed after the vehicle was hauled off the road.
Several concerned citizens helped the driver of the vehicle hit by the suspect.
May this incident be a reminder for all motorists to drive responsibly. Drivers should also keep in mind that distracted driving under the influence, speeding and failing to yield will lead to dangerous road accidents.
