1 Detained after Port Angeles Car Crash
PORT ANGELES, WA (November 27, 2019) – Authorities arrested a driver after a DUI car crash on Bagley Creek Road on November 24.
At 9:30 p.m., a WSP sergeant working inside the agency’s Port Angeles office noticed a vehicle crashed into the corner of the building. It happened near Highway 101 just east of town, Chief Deputy Brian King with the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office revealed.
When the sergeant came out to see what happened, the driver escaped. As a result, it left a foot-deep gaping hole in the side of the brick building.
Clallam County deputies searched for the driver. However, around 15 minutes later, they received a report that an SUV crashed through a fence. In addition, officials located it across a yard in the 1700 block of South Bagley Creek Road. Officers from several nearby agencies came to the scene and found the driver.
The evidence revealed that the driver was drunk and is responsible for the crash at the WSP office moments earlier. Authorities arrested the 48-year-old man and booked him into the Clallam County Jail for investigation of DUI and hit-and-run.
