2 Injured in Thousand Palms Accident near Washington Street and Thousand Palms Way

 
THOUSAND PALMS, CA (January 7, 2021) – Sunday afternoon, responders airlifted a driver following a police pursuit crash near Washington Street and Thousand Palms Way.
 
Sgt. Deanna Pecoraro of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department revealed that the incident began at about 2:02 p.m. The deputies noticed a stolen vehicle near Ramon Road and Desert Moon in Thousand Palms.
 
Thus, the deputies tried to initiate a traffic stop. However, the driver failed to yield which caused a pursuit. By 2:06 p.m., the driver lost control of the car and crashed near Washington Street and Thousand Palms Way.
 
According to reports, three people occupied the vehicle. Two of them suffered injuries, one minor and another was moderate. Due to the injuries, authorities requested an airship to the crash scene.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities clarified that the incident was a single-vehicle crash. Also, no deputies suffered injuries in the chase.
 
The crash remains under active investigation.
