Driver Airlifted after Head-On Collision on National Trails Highway [Victorville, CA]

Man Seriously Injured after Car Crashes into Disposal Truck near Air Expressway

VICTORVILLE, CA (October 23, 2018) – A man was injured Tuesday morning following a head-on collision on National Trails Highway. The identity of the victim was not disclosed to the public.

As per reports, the incident took place at about 6:37 AM near Air Expressway. A northbound black Mitsubishi Eclipse, driven by the victim, failed to negotiate a right turn and slammed into a westbound Burrtec truck.

A major portion of the sedan was wedged under the disposal truck, causing the driver to be pinned in his car. After the driver was freed from the wreck, he was airlifted to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Updates on his current medical condition were not immediately available.

Meanwhile, the driver of the truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No other injuries were reported by the authorities, and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
