Driver Dies after Speeding Car Crashes Parked Vehicles and Overturns on Woodley Avenue
GRANADA HILLS, CA (January 18, 2020) – The motorist killed in a high-speed crash early Saturday morning in Granada Hills was publicly identified Monday.
The coroner’s office identified him as Douglas Richards, 67, of Granada Hills.
Around 12:40 a.m., Richards was driving a Nissan Sentra and was speeding in the area of Woodley Avenue and Chatsworth Street. The car then crashed into several parked vehicles and flipped over.
As a result, Richards died at the scene. His female passenger suffered severe injuries and was rushed to an area hospital.
It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
