Douglas Hope Charged for DUI Crash in Oroville
OROVILLE, CA (April, 16, 2019) – On Tuesday morning, 34-year-old Douglas Hope was arrested for DUI on Highway 70.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 2:13 AM approaching Cox Lane in the northbound lanes.
As per reports, officials received a call of a wrong-way driver traveling southbound on the highway. The reporting party remained behind the suspects vehicle until the CHP arrived. The suspect was driving without headlights at approximately 45 miles per hour in the right shoulder lane.
Hope had his 3-year-old child seated in the right rear passenger seat. However, the toddler was unsecured during the incident.
Law enforcement conducted a DUI evaluation. Hope was arrested from DUI, felony child endangerment and possession of a controlled substance. After that, he was booked to Butte County Jail.
