Dorothy Desantis Killed in Jones Lane Pedestrian Accident [Nipomo, CA]

Nipomo, CA (February 26, 2022) On Friday, 71-year-old Dorothy Desantis from Nipomo was killed in a pedestrian accident on Jones Lane in Nipomo.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says that the fatal incident happened around 2:30 a.m. south of Black Lake Canyon Road.

Reports say that a pedestrian was walking on the roadway when a westbound vehicle making a left turn hit the woman.

Officials say that Desantis was struck by a vehicle driven by 70-year-old Darian Hansen, also a Nipomo resident.

Desantis suffered major injuries and was taken to Marian Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday morning, at around 4:04 a.m.

Meanwhile, Hansen was not hurt.

The CHP is still investigating the crash, and no arrests have been made.
