SUV Overturns on 10 Freeway in Desert Hot Springs Killing the Driver
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (January 20, 2020) – A man was killed following a rollover crash late Monday afternoon in Desert Hot Springs.
The crash happened around 5:40 p.m. on 10 Freeway, between Palm Drive and North Gene Autry Trail.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. It then flipped multiple times and came to rest on the center divider.
The force of the crash ejected the driver who was not wearing a seat belt. Paramedics rushed him to Desert Regional Medical Center in critical condition. That driver died a short time later.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau identified the deceased as 62-year-old Dorian Zaentz of Chula Vista.
Officials do not believe alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash. They asked anyone with information about the accident to contact Officer Severing at (760) 772-5300.
