Sonora Stone Arrested after Three-Car Pileup near Highway 29
NAPA COUNTY, CA (December 20, 2018) – Three people were injured Thursday evening following a DUI crash near Highway 29. The victims were later identified as 52-year-old Donna Helmick of Fairfield, 24-year-old Garret Nuuhiwa of Napa, and 21-year-old Melissa Emmons of Fairfield.
As per reports, the incident happened at about 6:00 PM. A 1999 Ford F-350, driven by Helmick, was heading south on Highway 221 when it was rear-ended by a 2010 Jeep Patriot. The impact of the crash pushed the Ford into the rear of a 2017 Toyota Rav-4 and caused a fire.
Helmick and her two passengers, Nuuhiwa and Emmons, suffered minor injuries in the crash. Emmons was transported to Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo, where her condition remains unknown. The driver of the Toyota, identified as 39-year-old Maria Ramos, did not sustain injuries in the collision.
The driver of the Jeep, identified as 21-year-old Sonora Stone of Vacaville, was arrested on suspicion of a felony charge related to drunk driving and injuring someone. She could face bail of $100,000, according to jail records. Additional information will be released following the conclusion of the investigation.
