49-Year-Old Palmdale Man Killed and 2 Others Injured in Accident at Avenue P-8
PALMDALE, CA (May 25, 2018) – A fatal head-on collision took place on 50th Street East, late Friday night. Investigator Kristy McCracken with the coroner’s office identified the deceased victim on Tuesday as 49-year-old Donald Hall Fontenette of Palmdale.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol reported the accident around 10:10 PM, just north of Avenue P-8. A 2012 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, driven by Fontenette, was traveling south on 50th St when it swerved into oncoming traffic.
The truck came into the path of a northbound 2006 Ford Explorer, driven by a 53-year-old woman, and the two vehicle crashed head-on. Fontenette was pronounced dead at the scene by responding officials. The driver of the Ford sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the Antelope Valley Hospital, while her 39-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken to the same place. There is no update on their identities or current condition.
