Donald Green Killed, Joseph Lawson Injured in Grass Valley Crash
Grass Valley, CA (July 12, 2021) – On June 4, 83-year-old Donald Green of Grass Valley, died, and 29-year-old Joseph Lawson of Citrus Heights was injured in Highway 49 car crash.
The fatal accident happened earlier that day, at the McKnight Way intersection.
The investigating officers said Green, driving a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu sedan, turned northbound from a dirt pull-out road onto Highway 49.
That is when Green’s sedan struck on the left side by Lawson, who was driving his 2016 Volkswagen Passat southbound on Highway 49 at a high speed..
Emergency responders took Green to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center, wherein he died later that day.
On the other hand, Lawson incurred minor injuries in the accident and was released at the scene.
Meanwhile, it is not known why Green did not see the oncoming vehicle.
Officers said they do not consider drugs nor alcohol to be factors in the crash. They also said both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of crash.
