Donald Charlesworth Jr. Killed in North Highlands Accident on I-80, Hit-And-Run Suspect Missing
NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA (October 5, 2021) – Monday night, Donald Charlesworth Jr., 63, and his son died in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 80 near Madison Avenue.
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 6:00 p.m. Moreover, it happened on Interstate 80 near Madison Avenue.
Reports revealed that a westbound GMC veered off to the side of the road. Then, it struck two disabled vehicles on the side of the road and two men tending to one of the vehicles.
Apparently, the victims stopped on the side of I-80 after running out of gas. At this time is when the suspect driver struck Charlesworth Jr. and his 26-year-old son, Donald Charlesworth III.
Subsequently, the GMC driver fled on foot after the crash. The assailant remains missing.
Furthermore, officials confirmed that the two Sacramento men died in the North Highlands accident.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported a passenger of the GMC to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Moreover, authorities described the hit-and-run driver as a balding, possibly Hispanic man. He wore blue jeans, no shirt, with tattoos.
