Do Dang Dead, Kristin Eddington Hurt after Car Crashed into Power Pole
LOS GATOS, CA (November 26, 2018) – A man died when he swerved to avoid a tree lying on a highway and struck into a power pole on Thursday, November 22.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on northbound Highway 35 near Castle Rock State Park.
39-year-old Do Dang, of San Jose, was traveling in a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta with a passenger, 33-year-old Kristin Eddington, of Los Gatos, at about 6:30 a.m. under dark, foggy, wet roadway conditions, the CHP stated.
Dang swerved to avoid a tree that had fallen across the highway, and then the car went off the road and crashed into a power pole. Emergency workers treated Dang and Eddington, who were then rushed to Valley Medical Center by ambulance, according to CHP.
Dang died of internal injuries sustained in the crash. The passenger suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the hospital.
