Driver Dies after Crashing into Sound Wall on Lakeshore Circle in Discovery Bay

 
DISCOVERY BAY, CA (April 20, 2019) – A 17-year-old Brentwood woman was killed in a car accident late Saturday evening in Discovery Bay.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:44 p.m. at the intersection of Lakeshore Circle and Winchester Loop.
 
The woman was behind the wheel of a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, traveling on Lakeshore Circle towards the end of the roadway. For unknown reasons, she drove directly through the metal guardrail and into the concrete sound wall.
 
Responding paramedics found the woman with fatal injuries and pronounced her dead at the scene. Her name has been withheld by the Contra Costa County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office pending family notification.
 
It is unknown if intoxication was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
