3 People Hurt in Harris County Traffic Accident on East Freeway near Cedar Lane

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (January 14, 2024) – Thursday morning, a disastrous vehicle crash on East Freeway near Cedar Lane injured three people.

The incident happened at around 6:54 a.m. on the eastbound East Freeway near Cedar Lane.

According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, a large work truck hauling a gooseneck trailer and equipment struck a patrol vehicle, a deputy, and two other motorists. Also, authorities said that the deputy managed to push one person out of the way before the incident.

Moreover, responders transported the deputy and two other patients to a hospital with serious injuries.

Furthermore, officers confirmed that the deputy was responding to an earlier incident and was standing outside of their vehicle with two other people when the truck struck them.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
