Officer Hurt in San Antonio Auto Accident on Blanco Road and Loop 1604

SAN ANTONIO, TX (October 26, 2024) – Thursday night, a disastrous vehicle crash on Blanco Road and Loop 1604 injured one person.

The incident happened at around 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Blanco Road and Loop 1604.

The San Antonio Police said that an off-duty Webb County Sheriff’s Office deputy was directing traffic at the intersection when struck by a truck.

Authorities said that the driver of the truck drove on the green light but was distracted by his cell phone, struck the deputy’s truck, and struck the female officer.

Responders transported the officer to a hospital in stable condition.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
