SONORA, CA (June 22, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, Officer Watson sustained injuries in a disastrous vehicle accident on Highway 49 near Shaws Flats Road.

The incident happened at around 4:10 p.m. on Highway 49 near Shaws Flats Road.

According to the Sonora Police Department, a silver Toyota SUV failed to yield and collided with the left driver’s door of a northbound patrol vehicle that was making a U-turn with Code 3 emergency lights on.

Moreover, responders transported the occupant of the patrol vehicle, Officer Watson, with minor injuries.
