2 People Hospitalized in Castaic Traffic Accident on 5 Freeway near Smokey Bear Road

CASTAIC, CA (November 3, 2023) – Thursday afternoon, a disastrous two-vehicle crash on 5 Freeway injured two people.

The incident happened at around 1:10 p.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway near Smokey Bear Road.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, two big rigs collided in the area for still unknown reasons.

Moreover, firefighters rushed to the scene and extricated two people trapped inside the wreckage. Then, paramedics airlifted one person and transported the other via ground ambulance, to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, the crash closed all northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
