3 People Arrested in Santa Barbara Auto Accident near Bath Street and West Carrillo Street

SANTA BARBARA, CA (August 8, 2024) – Tuesday morning, a disastrous two-vehicle crash near Bath Street and West Carrillo Street injured two people.

The incident happened at around 11:00 a.m. near Bath Street and West Carrillo Street.

According to reports, authorities attempted to pull over a stolen vehicle to no avail. Then, while being pursued by authorities, the stolen vehicle struck a parked car.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that two occupants of the parked vehicle sustained minor injuries in the collision.

Furthermore, officers detained the three occupants of the stolen vehicle, the 16-year-old male driver of the vehicle, a 15-year-old female, and a 17-year-old female. Then, authorities confirmed that the driver was booked for stealing a vehicle, evading officers, felony driving under the influence, felony hit and run, resisting officers, and driving without a license.

Meanwhile, authorities released the two female passengers to their guardians.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Santa Barbara Police continued to investigate the crash.
