2 People Hurt in Costa Mesa Auto Accident near Placentia Avenue and Center Street

COSTA MESA, CA (April 21, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, a disastrous traffic crash near Placentia Avenue and Center Street injured two people.

The incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. near Placentia Avenue and Center Street.

According to the Costa Mesa Police Department, a westbound Honda failed to yield the right of way and collided with a southbound Mercedes-Benz. Then, the Mercedes lost control after the collision and crashed into an apartment building.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the two drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment. Also, authorities said that one person inside the apartment was injured, but did not require medical transport.

Furthermore, the crash closed southbound Placentia Avenue at W. 19th Street but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Costa Mesa Police Department continued to investigate the crash.
