Injuries Reported in Bonita Auto Accident on SR-54 and Briarwood Road

BONITA, CA (July 17, 2023) – Saturday morning, a disastrous single-vehicle crash on SR-54 and Briarwood Road injured 2 people.

The incident happened at around 11:29 a.m. on westbound SR-54, east of Briarwood Road in Bonita.

According to reports, the California Highway Patrol along with San Miguel Fire-Rescue and San Diego Fire-Rescue all responded to the scene.

Upon the first responders’ arrival, they located a single-vehicle rollover accident with 2 females still inside the vehicle.

Officers said that one woman managed to exit the vehicle on her own. However, the other one requires extrication.

According to reports, the vehicle rolled over around 4 times before landing back on its wheels.

After the crash, responders transported both women to Scripps Mercy Hospital in serious condition.

Also, the CHP continues to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
