2 Women Injured in Solo-Vehicle DUI Accident on Highway 2
Chelan County, WA (August 7, 2023) On Saturday morning, 2 people were hurt after a rollover crash on State Route 2 near milepost 70.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the solo-vehicle accident happened around 4:40 a.m. on Highway 2.
Reports say that a 2003 Kia Sedona driven by a 32-year-old Tacoma woman, crossed the solid white fog lane and the female driver overcorrected and hit the guardrails on the left shoulder.
However, the vehicle rolled down a ditch, fortunately, the vehicle hit a tree, and the collision prevented the vehicle from rolling further down.
Officials say that both the female driver and her passenger, 40-year-old Mountlake Terrace woman, were taken to the hospital in critical condition. Both driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Authorities are investigating the probable cause of the solo-vehicle accident. Officials later arrested the female driver who was charged with driving under the influence and vehicular assault.
