Disastrous Pursuit Crash on Waring Road Led to Injury [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (January 10, 2024) On Tuesday morning, a wild pursuit crash on Waring Road left at least one person hurt and hospitalized.

According to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD), the traffic crash happened near the intersection of Waring Road and Zion Avenue.

Officials say that the crash started when the driver of an SUV ran a red light at an intersection in the Grantville area when a traffic officer attempted to stop the driver, but the driver did not stop and continued driving.

Reports say that a pursuit began, with the SUV driver driving on the wrong side of the road, officials say that the pursuit ended when the the vehicle crashed into another vehicle near the intersection of Waring Road and Zion Avenue.

Officials say that at least one person suffered injuries from the crash and was taken to the hospital.

Authorities arrested 2 suspects, including a 16-year-old boy.

SDPD is investigating the traffic crash and has not released additional information at this time.
