The incident happened after 8:00 a.m.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, a Piper PA-28 departed from Prescott Regional Airport when it suffered engine trouble. Then, the plane struck a tree while attempting to land away from the airport.

Moreover, officers confirmed that four occupants of the plane managed to exit and walk around the wreckage.
