Dog Dead in Houston Auto Accident on White Oak Drive and Houston Avenue
HOUSTON, TX (February 8, 2024) – Wednesday morning, a disastrous pedestrian crash on White Oak Drive and Houston Avenue injured one person.
The incident happened at around 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of White Oak Drive and Houston Avenue.
According to the Houston Police Department, a construction equipment skid steer and ran over a woman and her dog who were both crossing the street. Then, the driver of the vehicle parked the construction equipment, got into his vehicle, and fled the scene.
Moreover, responders transported the female pedestrian to Memorial Herman Hospital with serious injuries. Also, officers confirmed that the dog died in the crash.
Furthermore, authorities managed to pull over and arrest the suspect on Interstate 45 and Main Street.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division continued to investigate the crash.
