1 Person Arrested in San Pedro Pedestrian Accident on Capitol Drive and Gaffey Street
SAN PEDRO, CA (October 3, 2023) – Sunday night, a disastrous pedestrian crash on Capitol Drive and Gaffey Street injured one person.
The incident started at around 9:20 p.m. when authorities responded to a child custody dispute inside a Target on Capitol Drive and Gaffey Street.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a woman in her 30s got into a vehicle and struck a female pedestrian intentionally. Then, an officer fired at the woman as the suspect left the scene.
Also, authorities pursued the suspect until the vehicle struck a tree at Paseo Del Mar and Pacific Avenue.
As a result, responders treated and released the pedestrian at the scene. Then, paramedics transported the suspect to a hospital with minor injuries.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
