5 People Hurt in San Diego Auto Accident on Qualcomm Way near Interstate 8
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 25, 2023) – Saturday night, a disastrous DUI crash on Qualcomm Way near Interstate 8 injured five people.
The incident happened at around 6:30 p.m. on the Qualcomm Way on-ramp to west Interstate 8.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Salvador Castro, a Ford Explorer crashed and rolled over for still unknown reasons. Then, the force of the crash ejected a 3-year-old male occupant of the vehicle into the roadway.
As a result, paramedics transported the 3-year-old boy with major injuries and four other children with unknown injuries to Rady Children’s Hospital for treatment.
Moreover, officers believe that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
