Injuries Reported in Felton Bicycle Crash on Highway 9 and Glengarry Road
FELTON, CA (February 28, 2024) – Tuesday night, a disastrous bicycle accident on Highway 9 and Glengarry Road injured 5 people.
The crash between four bicyclists and a vehicle happened at about 6:21 p.m. on Highway 9 and Glengarry Road.
Reports revealed that an 85-year-old woman driving a blue Kia Forte headed north on Highway 9. Meanwhile, four bicyclists were heading south on the east shoulder of the highway. For an unknown reason, the Kia veered off the roadway and hit the bicyclists.
Then, the Kia continued heading east and stopped after hitting a tree. As a result, the driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Meanwhile, two of the bicyclists sustained major injuries and were transported to the hospital via air ambulance. Also, the other two bicyclists were injured and were transported to the hospital by ambulance.
Moreover, the authorities do not believe that drugs and alcohol played a role in the crash.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
